I completed my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Alliance Graduate School of Counseling in 2016, and my Bachelor’s in Psychology and American Sign Language from the University of Rochester in 2012. I have worked as a mental health counselor for undergraduate students at Nyack College, in Nyack, NY, for the past 4 years, both as an intern and MHC-LP. My clinical experience at Nyack has included both individual and group therapy, and I have also presented at seminars on various mental health topics. While I have experience with a wide variety of mental health issues during my time at Nyack, my areas of expertise have been anxiety, depression, grief and loss, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. I interned as a crisis counselor for 211-LIFELINE from 2011-2012 and have extensive experience in crisis assessment and intervention.
I believe that healing and personal growth is a process, and it is my goal to come alongside you, wherever you are in your process and walk with you on your journey. My role as your counselor is to provide you with a safe space and to work with you in order to reach your goals and overcome obstacles that may be holding you back. I believe in a holistic counseling approach, focusing on how the body, mind, and spirit all play significant roles in our overall health. While my primary therapeutic approaches are CBT, Gestalt Therapy, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, I tailor my style to the needs of each individual client.
I am a strong believer in the importance of balance and self-care. I enjoy puzzles, watching movies, going on walks, trying new foods, and going on adventures. I have been a multi-sport athlete my entire life, and I am also a musician. I am passionate about the power of creative arts in helping people to heal and express themselves in ways that they might not be able to otherwise.
