Nutrition can be a daunting subject and there is often conflicting information which makes it difficult to navigate and interpret. I am passionate about assisting clients in their own understanding of nutrition and how it pertains to them. I aim to provide nutrition counseling and education that brings about personal self-efficacy so that my clients can ultimately feel confident in their nutrition decision-making skills. I firmly believe that there is no single “diet” or eating pattern, as I like to say, that fits everyone’s needs. This is why I believe that nutrition assessments should be all encompassing; in order to identify areas that may affect nutrition decision-making such as family life, religious practices, physical activity, learned behaviors, work schedule, food budget, and physiological needs.
Education and Experience: I earned a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and Nutrition from Keiser University in Florida. Upon completion of the didactic portion of the program, I embarked on an eight-month internship that included work with college athletes, foodservice preparation and management, nutrition education with children in the Head Start program, and a six-month clinical rotation in a Long Term Care facility. Additionally, I have several years of experience in the fitness industry working with individuals and their nutrition and fitness goals.
What defines me: If I had to briefly describe who I am it would go a little something like this…Family-focused, adventure-seeking environmentalist that has a passion for food and enjoys collecting succulent plants as well as building meaningful connections with each person I interact with while being open to learning new things.
