Educational Background: I earned my Master’s degree in School Counseling from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL. During my graduate internships, I worked and gained valuable experience primarily with parents and children, from ages eight until their early twenties who were at-risk youth, many of them in the justice system. Some of the mental health issues I dealt with during my internship included anxiety, depression, bullying, gang involvement, substance abuse, domestic violence, bipolar, and grief.
My Therapeutic Approach: I work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families to reach their goals and to learn new ways to cope with and respond to everyday stresses. Depending on my clients, I use a host of treatment therapies to meet their specific needs which include, but are not limited to, CBT, DBT, Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Trauma-Focused, Person-Centered Psychotherapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. I also work with each client to examine what their current lifestyle and diet look like in order to make necessary adjustments for the client to receive the best results possible. I treat each client with respect and dignity and am fully aware that I am a partner in their process in achieving their goals and fulfilling life.
More About Me: When I’m not counseling, I enjoy working out, cooking, reading books, and watching movies. My husband and I are also involved in cat rescue and rehabilitation. I have five nieces and nephews who are the light of my world and I enjoy spending time with them.
