Education and Experience: I completed my Post-Master's certificate program from Montclair State University in Advanced Counseling in 2019 and completed my Master of Arts in Education degree in School Counseling from Saint Peter's University in 2015. I finished my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Marist College in 2013. I am currently a school therapist in an elementary school aside from working as a therapist at Portrait Health Centers. I have worked as a school guidance counselor in a public high school and at a therapeutic private middle school. I completed my undergraduate fieldwork at Family Services New York interning under social workers who worked with victims of sexual and domestic violence.
Therapeutic Approach: As a therapist, I practice an eclectic approach while specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I do not believe in a "one size fits all" approach to counseling. I believe that everybody can reap the benefits of therapy, and I use a person-centered approach to make the client feel welcomed, safe, and validated. My own life experiences have helped me understand what it is like to be both the client and the therapist, and it is my goal to make sure that everybody that sees me feels safe, heard, and understood.
About Me: I love spending my free time with my family. I also coach ice hockey for a local club team and used to coach at the high school varsity level. I love cooking, swimming, yoga, hiking, seeing friends, and taking walks in my neighborhood. I am an American Red Cross Instructor of Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Water Safety.
