I believe that a solid therapeutic alliance between client and therapist is key to achieving success in therapy. I teach a range of coping skills to help deal with various issues that could occur in a person’s life. To achieve this, I have a few methods I work with as well the desire to expand my skills to fit what my clients need. These methods are: Acceptance and Commitments Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), Role-Playing Game Based Skill Teaching, Attachment Theory, and Mindfulness Techniques.
I have a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, both on a clinical track, from Governors State University. I started with an Associate’s degree in Psychology from Joliet Junior College. I completed an internship at Trinity Services, Inc. and worked there full-time for the following 3 years. My experience there was intensive outpatient with a broad range of clients, where I learned to think on my feet and come up with creative interventions to work with my clients.
During my downtime, I enjoy tabletop role-playing games, playing with my dog Ace, hanging out with friends, designing fantasy maps and images, and playing video games. I am also licensed as a CPR & First Aid teacher and enjoyed teaching classes at my previous employment.
