My Philosophy/Approach: My counseling approach is to create an open-minded, inclusive safe space and welcome you into it with an empathetic mindset. I think it is very easy to get overwhelmed, stressed, and exhausted due to the daily stressors that present themselves in today’s society. I practice solution-focused brief therapy because I believe that we will come together and develop coping skills that you can practice and develop solutions to the challenges you may be facing. I tailor my approach based on the individual client and consider their mental, spiritual and physical health as I believe our bodies and minds work together in unison.
Education & Experience: I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Illinois at Chicago and my Master’s in Education in Counseling from DePaul University, with a concentration on both Community and School Counseling. I recently earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. During my studies at DePaul University I pursued my Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license and also earned my Professional Educator License with an endorsement in School Counseling for students from preschool through 12th grade. I have volunteered at Big Brothers and Big Sisters and am currently a school counselor for Chicago Public Schools.
More About Me: I am an empathetic person both personally and professionally. I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two dogs. I like to be outdoors and travel as much as possible. I find value in connecting with family and friends over a shared meal.
