Hi! My name is Melissa Eaton. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Marywood University. I completed my Dietetic Internship at Inspira Health Network that had an emphasis on clinical rotations, which included bariatrics, pediatrics, maternity, diabetes, long term care, and cardiopulmonary. I graduated from Rowan University with my Master’s in Wellness and Lifestyle Management. My experience working as a Registered Dietitian includes the role of a campus Dietitian, serving as an adjunct professor, and a dietetic internship preceptor. As a campus dietitian, I work closely with individuals with food allergies and dietary restrictions. I schedule one-on-one counseling sessions and cover a variety of health and wellness concerns. I also plan and coordinate cooking demonstrations along with weekly wellness events that cover current health and wellness trends.
Nutrition is critical in our everyday life. What we eat matters, but we should enjoy it. I work with individuals on all different levels including preventative care, maintenance, and weight management. Each person I work with is treated based on their own needs, there is no single eating pattern that works for everyone. With that being said, I will coach you on how to make lifelong behavior and dietary changes that will help you lead a balanced lifestyle.
Outside of work I love spending time with my family, husband, and the newest addition to our family, Hemingway, our yellow lab. I love being outdoors and enjoy running, hiking, playing tennis as well as taking trips to the shore. When I’m not busy outside I love spending time in the kitchen baking and cooking. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and dark chocolate is my favorite snack.
