I believe in working with solutions and not just on the problems that we all have. I believe that if we focus on what works in our life, and keep doing what works, then our problems won’t be such a problem anymore. My philosophy of life is to grow towards a vision of who we want to be instead of waking up each day and living in the memories of our past. My vision as a counselor is to help my clients learn to change their perceptions on how they see themselves and their world in order to get them to where they want to go. In counseling, I incorporate the approaches of CBT, Mindfulness, ACT, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, Person-Centered, and NLP. Lastly, I completely believe in the power of exercise and diet—which is very important for our mental health and will be incorporated in counseling.
As for my education, I received my BA in Psychology from Georgian Court University than studied oversees in Holland at an American university called Webster University Leiden, where I received my MA in Counseling Psychology. Studying and living abroad for two years was truly an amazing experience that I recommend for everyone to try.
Outside of counseling, I am always running, reading, and resting. I love to do triathlons, take long hikes, go bouldering, and be with good people that will lift me up and make me a better me. I love encouraging others to be the best that they can be.
