Education and Experience: I graduated from an accelerated Masters of Art in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. As a licensed professional counselor intern, I am able to assess, diagnose, and treat mental and emotional disorders. Throughout my graduate and undergraduate internships and practicums, I have gained experience working with various populations and ages. My professional experience, combined with my ability to be open-minded, empathic, and uphold appropriate boundaries, has helped lead my clients to positive outcomes. I am passionate about working with individuals who struggle with life adjustments, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, grief, family conflict, childhood trauma, sexual trauma, conflict resolution, and eating disorders. My experience and dedication have taught me the importance of providing genuine care to clients by using a comprehensive approach and creating a safe and supportive environment that fosters growth. I am passionate about mental health and normalizing counseling; it’s okay not to be okay.
Therapy Approach: Healing and personal growth is a process, and it is my goal to come alongside of you and walk with you on your journey. My focus is on establishing a foundation of trust and rapport to make sure my clients feel seen and heard. As your counselor, my role is to provide you with a safe space that is non-judgmental, collaborative, gives direction, and fosters growth. Therapy is not a "one size fits all." Therefore, I strive to create a treatment plan based on the needs and goals of my clients. Each individual's situation is unique and should be approached differently. Some of the approaches I utilize include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, Family Systems, Trauma-Focused, and Integrative, I modify my style to each client's needs. My goal is to equip you with the skills and tools to live out your most authentic self.
About Me: When I am not working as a therapist, you can find me trying new food and taking pictures of my food. During the spring and fall, I love spending my weekends on a patio with my husband eating Tex-Mex. I am a self-proclaiming foodie blogger. I am extremely active and enjoy running on trails or walking my dog. It is essential for me to incorporate balance and self-care into my daily life. I love spending my time encouraging people and creating a space that allows for authenticity.
