Education and Experience:
I received my Master of Arts in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from The College of New Jersey, CACREP approved. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rowan University. I am certified as a National Certified Counselor and obtain my license as a Licensed Associate Counselor. I began working with school aged children, followed by expanding my focus to adolescent and adult populations. I have experience in community mental health agencies, as well as college and academic settings.
As a therapist, my goal is to create a safe, welcoming space for individuals to share their story in a non-judgmental environment. While providing support to clients, I will assist clients in setting realistic, achievable goals while validating their experiences. Therapy is a journey and my role is to motivate, encourage, and travel with the client. Whether we look at our lives as a series of chapters or stories, I believe in adding new chapters of change and exploration. We may even write completely new stories.
My therapeutic approach incorporates multiple modalities tailored to the individual, couple, or family. With a background in family systems, I have gained a passion for working with families, while understanding the role individuals play within their family. My therapeutic style includes person-centered, narrative, emotionally focused, strategic family therapy, multicultural, play therapy, trauma focused, solution focused, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
In my free time, you can find me on my yoga mat practicing handstands or at the beach collecting seashells. I am always ready to find a new restaurant to try or get ice cream. I enjoy time spent with friends and family, fishing, reading a good book, puzzles, and watching the latest binge-worthy series.
