Education and Experience: I obtained my training from Fairleigh Dickinson University and received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from their CACREEP accredited program. I received my experience primarily from a high school setting working alongside other mental health professionals while collaborating with teachers, administrators, and school psychologists. I have also received experience from a community mental health agency where I have worked with higher risk populations providing individual and group counseling services.
Counseling Philosophy: I hope to provide a safe environment for my clients to explore their concerns at depths that are comfortable to them. I believe it is important to convey unconditional positive regard for my clients in a judgement free zone, which will allow for personal growth and achievement. Working togethering in a safe environment I hope to aid my clients in increasing their self-awareness, confidence, and overall mental health. I approach therapy from an integrative perspective. I incorporate humanistic, narrative, mindfulness, positive psychology, and cognitive-behavioral elements to provide individualized therapy to each client. For younger clients, I incorporate play therapy to help build a strong therapeutic alliance. My goal is to meet my clients where they are and grow with them while tailoring my approach as we move forward towards reaching goals.
More about Me: Outside of my aspiring counseling career, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, reading, traveling the world, working out, spending time in nature, photography, continuing my education, and practicing mindfulness regularly. I enjoy being with my cats and other animals as I believe they are wonderful at increasing mental health! However, on a rainy day I’ll likely be binge watching Netflix while staying cozy at home.
